The current Baptist Bible Institute in Ethiopia was founded by missionary Don Sidebottom in 1989. Many missionaries have contributed to this effort to train men and women in the Word of God.

At this time Gene Worley is the head of the Institute. Rex Switzer will be assuming the leadership in January 2008.

The plan is to continue to train in Bible doctrine. There is a great opportunity to develop an effective program of preparing men and women to win souls, disciple believers, and establish Bible Baptist churches.
